For John, creating art is a form of meditation, an escape from the stresses of everyday life. His art is a reflection of himself, his emotions, thoughts, and experiences. His work is a reflection of his personal journey, and each piece he creates is infused with energy and emotion.
As much as he loves sharing his art with others, it is still a very personal process, and he hopes you can somehow relate to a particular piece. He currently works and resides in Salisbury, New Brunswick.

Born and raised in the Maritimes, Alan targeted a career in visual arts. He mixed formal design education (NSCAD), Cinematography (BAA at Metropolitan Toronto University) and a wide variety of night courses in rendering techniques. Decades of production and art direction followed in Toronto, Sackville NB and Moncton design agencies. Alan’s oil paintings’ contrasty, bold shapes explore both traditional and innovative concepts. Now retired, Alan paints alongside his wife Helen, also an oil painter.

Retreating to his basement studio, David Brooks sought a distraction from the pandemic and a new focus for his art-making. Photography, art history and a deep concern for the state of our natural environment have all shaped the work that he has been creating since early 2020.

Jill McNair is a visual artist and educator in Allison, New Brunswick. With a background in education, the applied sciences and art therapy, she explores nature’s rhythms and art’s power to inspire well-being. Her paintings reflect a deep love for the wild and the outdoors. While her studio sits along the Petitcodiac River, she’s often found beachcombing the Atlantic coast or hiking through provincial and national parks. Her work is held in private collections across Canada and is also featured in the Friends of the Moncton Hospital Foundation to honor major donors. Recently, she was selected for a permanent installation in the new RCMP Headquarters in Moncton, highlighting her connection to her community.

Now retired from a 40-year career in nursing, Helen paints alongside her husband Alan, also an oil painter.
