Accent! Mini: Call for Submissions

Accent! Mini is a new series of five small-scale galleries opening across downtown Moncton this October, presented by DMCI and Bright & Brine Fine Art Gallery. Our goal is to showcase the incredible diversity of local art in spaces where the community can encounter it daily.

Whether you’re a student, an emerging artist, or an established professional, Accent! Mini is your chance to exhibit your work in a unique downtown setting.

What we’re looking for:

  • Artwork that is no larger than 5” cubed (to fit inside the cases). Larger pieces up to 8” cubed may be considered on a case-by-case basis, but priority will be given to smaller-sized works.

  • A wide range of mediums: painting, sculpture, ceramics, textiles, photography (must be printed), and mixed media.

  • Original work, ready for display. (We cannot accept digital files that have not been printed. If you would like assistance in print coordination, please email kathryn@brightbrine.ca.)

  • Eligibility: Accent! Mini is open to artists aged 16+ who are based in New Brunswick (students, emerging, and professionals). Artists outside NB may be considered if space allows.

How it works:

  • Five Accent! Mini galleries will be installed, with each gallery rotating quarterly, providing ongoing opportunities for featured artists.

  • Works will be displayed with a QR code linking to brightbrine.ca for purchase.

  • Each artist sets their own sale price for their piece and invoices Bright & Brine on the sale of work.

  • Buyers will pick up their purchased artwork at Bright & Brine Fine Art Gallery.

  • Thanks to sponsorship from DMCI, Bright & Brine, and our host locations, artists receive 100% of the sale price.

Fees & Selection:

  • There is no fee to submit or participate.

  • The Bright & Brine curatorial team will review submissions to ensure variety across mediums and artists.

Sales & Payment:

  • Artists will be paid via e-transfer within 30 days of the buyer’s pickup.

  • Prices set by the artist should include HST if applicable.

Display & Insurance:

  • Bright & Brine will coordinate installation. Small risers or display elements may be used at the curator’s discretion.

  • While Bright & Brine, DMCI, and our host locations take care in displaying and handling works, Accent! Mini galleries are in public places, and works are not insured.

Coordination:

  • Accepted submissions will be contacted to drop off their wrapped artwork at Bright & Brine for installation in the mini galleries.

  • Art that is not purchased within the quarterly exhibit may either be returned to the artist or kept on hand for future rotation and continued display on the website (at the artist’s and Bright & Brine’s discretion).

  • Artists may submit new work for consideration once every three months.

  • Mini gallery locations will be announced shortly. Artists may select their preferred location once accepted, but preferred placement cannot be guaranteed.
